ATKORE MARCO STEEL WIRE CABLE TRAY

Sheffield engineering specialists SCX have utilised use of Atkore Marco’s Steel Wire Cable Tray products as part of the innovative design solution at the new Tottenham Hotspur football ground.

The new stadium has been installed with a brand new retractable grass surface which will be used for football matches, and an artificial turf pitch underneath which will allow the stadium to host a range of events including NFL matches and music concerts.

Atkore Marco’s Steel Wire Cable Tray has been installed as a means of housing part of the large scale complex cabling infrastructure which helps support the vast mechanics of the structure.

The innovative new pitch will sit in three pitch long steel trays, weighing more than 3,000 tonnes each. The surface is split into sections to show each tray before retracting underneath the South stand to reveal the artificial playing surface beneath.

Daniel Tew, Sales Director for Atkore Unistrut & Marco explained: “This is one of the most innovative and exiting pieces of engineering currently taking place in the UK. Specialists at SCX were keen to source a robust, flexible and high quality cable management solution that allowed for a safe on-site installation, opting for Atkore Marco’s product to meet their requirements.

This has been a particularly large order, which reinforces our confidence in our product’s capabilities, and demonstrates the scale and performance of Atkore Marco’s capabilities.”

The new Tottenham ground opened in March 2019, with the first Premier League game scheduled for early April.
