Atkore Marco launches Fire Fighter Clips to support wiring in the event of a fire

Atkore Marco’s Fire Fighter Clips can be used to support wiring to avoid premature collapse in the event of a fire. Both MFFCS & MFFCL have been independently tested to comply with BS EN 50200:2015 & BS 8434-2: 2003 + A2 2009.

Following the Grenfell Tower tragedy in 2018, the UK Government enforced changes to wiring regulations to ensure cables are safely supported.

In the event of a fire, cable management systems manufactured from PVC-U softens and melts. As a result, the cables inside may fall and obscure vital escape routes. To overcome this issue, metallic devices such as fire rated cable clips and fasteners can be used.

The revised IET 18th Edition, BS 7671 (521.10.202) states, ‘wiring systems shall be supported such that they will not be liable to premature collapse in the event of a fire’.

Atkore Marco offer fire rated Fire Fighter Clips in two variants to suit a range of installations, recommending using Elite 3 trunking as the 3-compartment profile can hold both variants.
