Atkore Marco’s commitment to operating a sustainable business spans the entire operation from office through to the sales force, manufacturing operation and logistics.
 
The company secured ISO 14001 accreditation several years ago, a standard it retains year on year. The business continues to comply with and be guided by the principles of this benchmark environmental standard.

Atkore Marco products are produced and belong to all relevant environmental standards. No compounds used contain any substances classified as health hazards according to EEC Directive 1999/45/EC and the UK CHIP Statutory Instrument 2002 No 1689.  100% of all possible recycled uPVC material is reused in the manufacture of Marco Trunking Systems.
 
Recycled material is used in the uPVC trunking bases in order to allow the visible elements and accessories to be as pure white in colour as possible. In order to maintain the highest quality and to keep tolerances above the required level, the ratio of regrind to virgin material does not exceed a predetermined percentage.
 
Atkore Marco steel is manufactured from steel wire rod comprising 100% recycled material whilst all minimal scrap steel wire cable tray produced is sold locally for reprocessing.
 
The firm encourages customers to return old products to Atkore Marco headquarters where they can be recycled and once again reprocessed. Atkore Marco products are RoHS compliant and meet REACh credentials, further supporting customers in achieving their own KPI’s in relation to environmental performance.
