Contractors Interserve have utilised the combined benefits of a Unistrut-Marco one stop cable management solution as part of a pioneering education project in Leeds.

Within the electrical package, contractors Interserve have sourced a complete suite of cable management products through Unistrut-Marco.

The £41.4 million contract to build three new schools for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), which will be split across three sites in north, east and south Leeds. All three schools will contain the Unistrut-Marco package including Unistrut ladder, tray and channel as well as Marco’s steel wire cable tray and uPVC trunking.

John Heaton, Sales Director of Unistrut-Marco explained: “This project showcases the combined application of a range of supporting products that fall under the two brands. The synergy of Unistrut-Marco is incredibly powerful, enabling a single company to offer every single element under the cable management ‘raceway’ from strut through to external trunking.

By forging the two together, contractors are presented with a one stop source ensuring the processes of design, specification, supply and install are straight forward, simple and effective.”

The project will be ready in time for the academic year in 2018. Unistrut-Marco will continue to collaborate with the contractor as they reach relevant stages at each site, applying a uniformed approach at each school.

John added: “Many contractors are applying a tried and tested approach whereby identical products and processes are applied at multiple projects, where they are able to realise a positive outcome. The Unistrut-Marco product offering forms part of that wider process here at SEMH schools and it’s great to see the power of the products together in action.”

The scheme will provide world-class specialist learning environments for pupils between the ages of 11 and 16 who are unable to attend mainstream schools and will include specialist teaching areas, sensory rooms, outside learning areas and sports pitches, as well as multi-use games areas.
